Paranormal Corner: Salem County-based JUMPS Lands Episode on TV

Posted on Feb 28 2014

When Doug Hogate Jr. grabbed his digital camera and “Ghost Meter” back in 2008, and set out to research the paranormal, he never dreamed he would be leading a team of 15 investigators into a new adventure as big as the one that recently came their way.

In September, Hogate — founder and director of Jersey Unique Minds Paranormal Society — was contacted by producers at NBC who were looking for a team of paranormal investigators to consult for The Trisha Goddard Show.

“I was curious as to how they found us, and they said they had searched a national data base and we were listed as Number Two,” Hogate said. “They said they sent emails to a few different groups, but I was the quickest to get back to them and follow through with all of their requests, so they picked us.”

So, on Oct. 7, Hogate, along with JUMPS team members Melissa Dark, co-director, and “Bonnie,” team leader, boarded a train to Stamford, Conn., to investigate the Stamford Media Center, which sits in the same spot as the former Stamford Theater — a vaudeville venue dating back to the 1920s.

  1. Awesome blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?

I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid
option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..

    Any recommendations? Thanks a lot!
